Main Parts of Production Line:

Jwell TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) glass interlayer film extrusion line is a specialized production system designed to manufacture high-quality TPU films used as interlayers in laminated glass. These films enhance the safety, durability, and performance of glass products in automotive, architectural, and various other applications.

1. Raw Material Feeding System:

  - Hopper and Feeder: TPU pellets are loaded into a hopper, and the feeder ensures a consistent and precise flow of material into the extrusion line.

2. Drying System:

  - Dehumidifying Dryer: TPU materials are hygroscopic and require proper drying before extrusion to eliminate moisture and avoid defects in the final film.

3. Extruder:

  - Screw and Barrel: The extruder melts the TPU pellets and pushes them through the screw and barrel. The screw design is critical for achieving a homogeneous melt.

  - Temperature Control: Precise temperature settings are crucial to process TPU correctly, given its narrow processing window.

4. T-Die or Flat Die:

  - The die shapes the melted TPU into a flat film. It is designed to ensure uniform thickness and width of the extruded film.

5. Casting and Cooling System:

  - Casting Roller: The extruded TPU film is cast onto a chilled roller, which cools and solidifies the film. The roller often has a mirror finish to produce a smooth film surface.

  - Cooling Rollers: Additional cooling rollers may be used to further solidify the film and control its final thickness and properties.

6. Haul-Off Unit:

  - This unit pulls the film through the line at a consistent speed, ensuring proper tension and alignment, which is critical for maintaining uniform thickness and quality.

7. Corona Treatment:

  - Corona treatment may be applied to the film surface to enhance its adhesion properties, which is particularly important for bonding with glass in the lamination process.

8. Thickness Measurement and Control:

  - Thickness Gauge: Online measurement systems continuously monitor the film thickness, ensuring it meets specifications and making real-time adjustments as necessary.

9. Winding and Cutting:

  - Winding Unit: The finished film is wound onto rolls for storage and transportation. Precision winding ensures consistent tension and alignment.

  - Cutting Unit: If required, the film can be slit to specific widths or cut into sheets.

10. Control System:

   - A centralized control system monitors and regulates the entire process, ensuring synchronization between different components, maintaining process parameters, and ensuring product quality.

Advantages of TPU Glass Interlayer Films:

- Impact Resistance: TPU interlayers provide enhanced impact resistance, improving the safety of laminated glass by holding shards together upon breakage.

- Elasticity and Flexibility: TPU films offer superior elasticity and flexibility, making them suitable for applications requiring slight movement or stress.

- Adhesion: Excellent adhesion properties ensure a strong bond between the glass layers, enhancing the durability and performance of the laminated glass.

- Optical Clarity: High transparency and optical clarity make TPU films ideal for applications requiring clear visibility, such as windshields and architectural glazing.

- UV Resistance: TPU films provide UV protection, reducing the degradation of materials behind the glass and improving the longevity of the laminated structure.

Applications:

- Automotive: Windshields, side windows, sunroofs, and other glazing applications where safety and visibility are paramount.

- Architectural: Safety glass for buildings, including facades, skylights, and interior partitions, providing both security and aesthetic benefits.

- Protective Glazing: Applications in security and bullet-resistant glass, where enhanced impact resistance is required.

- Sound Insulation: Used in acoustic glazing to reduce noise transmission, improving the comfort of automotive and architectural environments.

Jwell TPU glass interlayer film extrusion line is designed to produce high-performance TPU films that serve as interlayers in laminated glass. The process involves precise control over material handling, extrusion, cooling, and finishing to ensure the production of uniform, high-quality films that enhance the safety, durability, and performance of laminated glass products in various applications.
